Privacy Policy
This policy explains how "Steam Asset Toolkit" ("this tool") handles your data. This tool is a purely front-end static web page, and its core principle is: your images never leave your computer.
1. Images and creative content you upload
- Every image you select or drop (background, subject, logo) is only loaded into your own browser's memory for compositing and preview.
- Images are never uploaded to any server, and are not stored by this tool; they all disappear once you close or reload the tab.
- Exporting (single download or ZIP) also happens entirely in your browser, and the resulting files are saved directly to your device.
2. Traffic statistics and experience analytics
To understand how the tool is used (e.g. visitor counts, how often the export feature is used) and to improve the experience, this site uses the following analytics services:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): collects device and browser information (operating system, browser type, screen size, language), an approximate location (estimated to city level; GA4 does not record your full IP address), and page views plus this site's custom anonymous events (e.g. how often "Download ZIP" is triggered and which output format is used). - PostHog (including Session Replay): besides anonymous usage events similar to GA4, PostHog records your interactions on this site (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and screen changes) so we can play them back to find confusing or broken parts of the interface. All input field contents are masked by default in recordings, and the image content you compose on the canvas is never recorded. See the PostHog Privacy Policy for details.
These statistics do not include your image content, file names, filename prefixes, or any data that directly identifies you.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
When you use "Download all (ZIP)", a window containing a Google AdSense ad is shown first. The ad is served by Google, and Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your interests; see how Google uses advertising cookies for details. Closing the window or clicking "Start export" lets you continue; the export feature works regardless of whether the ad loads.
4. Cookies
The following services set cookies or use localStorage in your browser: GA4 (_ga, _ga_*), PostHog (ph_*, used to distinguish visitors and link session recordings), and Google Ads (used for ad delivery and frequency capping). Other than these, this tool itself does not set any cookies or store any personal data.
5. Feedback form
The name, email, and message you voluntarily provide through the feedback form are received and forwarded to us by this site's hosting provider, Netlify (Netlify Forms), and are used only to respond to and process your feedback — never for marketing. See the Netlify Privacy Policy for details.
6. Data retention and third-party sharing
- This site does not sell or trade any data; other than the processors mentioned above — Google (analytics and ads), PostHog (analytics and recordings), and Netlify (hosting and forms) — we do not share data with any third party.
- Event and recording data in GA4 and PostHog are automatically deleted after each service's configured retention period.
